Hello everyone
First I just wanted to say thank you for such a great local forum for green folks such as myself!
I have messed around panning up at lynx, some crevising above lake pleasent etc but looking to get a bit more serious about it. Not looking to get rich, im not that naive but I do enjoy every aspect of it. Plus its something my wife likes to do and we can enjoy exploring together! So nice to finally get her off the couch (dont tell her i said that!) I also fly hanggliders / paragliders but thats not to spouse friendly as they get bored easily lol
Anyhow, even if we dont find any gold or minerals, relics or anything..anytime away from the half wits in the city is a succesful outing in my eyes!
So basically just introducing myself...oh Shane by the way lol
Also just was wondering what local clubs if any yall would recommend. We are going to have our GPAA membership soon. I know that opens up some land for us to play on but im sure its been pilfered, although ya can still find some i reckon. I just want to meet some cool, down to earth, friendly folks that could be somewhat of mentors for us. Mainly some layman geology lessons, local knowlege etc.
We are operating on a shoestring budget...i would say velcro really, and was very stoked to see the DIY forum. That has me writtin all over it for sure!! Love building my own equipment when i can! Getting a new welding machine soon, so that should open up a whole new world I would think.
Anyhow, I am rambling now. Just excited to get back to it especially after all the rain/floods lately!
